Made 4 Haiti sale is complete.  The remaining garments were sold at the Joshua Tree Music Festival this weekend!  If you are interested in supporting Made in Haiti, please see the collections and we hope one of the garments will be to your liking.  If you like a style of garment which has been sold, please email Frau Fiber to place and order, in your size and we will produce a garment unique to your liking.

Consider the possibilities for change in garment production when you DONATE UNWANTED CLOTHING, SIT AND SEW, “guilt free” SHOP FOR FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE GARMENT PRODUCTION IN HAITI!

MADE FOR HAITI held last Friday and Saturday at Hands on 3rd 8377 W. 3rd Street, LA

http://www.handson3rd.com was a wonderful success!  Frau Fiber’s goal was $500 it was surpassed by 200 and change.

Thank you to the Sewing Rebellion, students CSULA Fashion and Textile Program, West Hollywood residents who donated unwanted garments, and 3 rd Street business for your support with purchases and donations.  You are all part of this project, which is attempting to build a fair and sustainable garment economy in Haiti!

All proceeds benefited MADE IN HAITI, creating a non-profit funding mechanism, which will provided micro grants to Haitian tailors and seamstresses to start their own businesses repurposing pepe, and importing it into the United States, as Repurposed Couture.

Made for Haiti is seeking galleries, boutiques and specialty stores who would like to carry these one off garments.

REMAINING GARMENTS WILL BE FOR SALE, 5-20$ DONATION, AT THE SEWING REBELLION, JOSHUA TREE MUSIC FESTIVAL MAY 14-16, 2010.
